Environmental Policy

SeaBird Exploration and its subsidiaries avidly promote the concept of sustainable development, which unites protection of the natural and human environment with economic well-being. The Company thoroughly integrates and implements environmental considerations into all aspects of their operations, asset management and business decisions.

SeaBird Exploration is committed to ecological protection; regulatory compliance; continual environmental improvement; and pollution prevention. The Company promotes environmental stewardship via the following practices:

Comply:

  • Conduct our operations in an environmentally responsible manner;
  • Develop, implement and continually improve an accredited Environmental Management System;
  • Meet or exceed the requirements of all applicable environmental laws, regulations, policies and agreements to which the Company subscribes.

Conserve:

  • Promote the efficient use of materials and resources in all phases of operations.

Protect:

  • Manage our operations activities with awareness to avoid, minimize, or mitigate impacts to the ecosystems;
  • Provide resource enhancements when opportunities arise.

Prevent:

  • Reduce the quantity and toxicity of materials used and waste generated from our operations/facilities through source reduction, reuse, or recycle;
  • Promote safe handling of operations materials and by-products.

Inspire:

  • Be proactive in identifying and addressing emerging environmental issues;
  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors and third-party agencies to promote sound science and achieve common environmental objectives;
  • Support environmental-related research, technology transfer and training.

Instigate:

  • Ensure that all personnel are made aware of and are actively involved in the Company’s Environmental Management Programmes through topical information and appropriate training;
  • Incorporate environmental costs, risks, and impacts into all business decisions;
  • Monitor operations to help assure that practices in our workplaces conform to our policies through self audits;
  • Implement and review environmental objectives and targets along identified significant environmental impacts;
  • Improve procedures aimed at managing environmental emergencies promptly and effectively.
